The pop yum green riot
We make great popcorn, and we’re committed to doing it without harming the planet. Sustainability matters to us, so here’s what we’re getting right today, and what we’re working on next.
What we’re doing right now
Outer packaging is made from fully recyclable cardboard; simply flatten and recycle. The packets inside can also be recycled at major supermarkets & soft plastic recycling points.
Palm oil: none at all. While some brands still heavily rely on it (even the “sustainable” kind), we’ve always used rapeseed oil instead. Better for rainforests, better for the planet. Across our entire snack range.
We produce nitrogen in-house to cut unnecessary transport, and we run on renewable energy, because fossil fuels are for fossils.
Waste is kept to a minimum: rejected kernels are repurposed for quality checks and new flavour trials (that's also why mushroom kernels rule the roost). Short-dated bags are donated to local charities and food banks. Good popcorn deserves a good home.
What we’re doing next
Those repurposed kernels are heading for new products, think popcorn bars and slabs. Zero waste, even more flavour.
A new range with resealable, reusable pouches is on the way. Perfect if you ever manage to leave some for later (no judgement if you don’t).
We’re also targeting full B Corp certification within the next couple of years, independent standards and proper accountability.
Pop Yum: Great crunch that’s kinder to the earth.
